Computer Rooms
The Faculty of Sciences has computer rooms (in Catalan) available for students and lecturers, managed by the staff of the UIB Information and Communication Technology Area Infrastructure Service.
These classrooms allow regulated teaching to be carried out and also allow students to carry out the work entrusted to them. The computer rooms are assigned technology collaborating students who guarantee their proper functioning. Since the 2015-16 academic year, all computer rooms have been working with virtual desktops (in Catalan) accessible with the personal credentials of lecturers and students. Virtual desktop technology provides users with desktops and software stored remotely on a central server rather than on the hard drive of the classroom PC.
With the start of the 2016-17 academic year, access to virtual desktops was opened to laptops and devices connected to the corporate Wi-Fi. The buildings of the Faculty of Sciences have a wi-fi network and Internet connection with the personal credentials of lecturers and students. Users can access these desktops also from laptops or mobile devices. The center has 10 portable PCs available to its lecturers and students that allow, depending on the needs, to enable any classroom as a computer room. Today, users can also access these desktops from home or from anywhere in the world.
Refectory and Cafeteria Service

The cafeteria in the Mateu Orfila i Rotger building is open during teaching periods from 8 am to 8:30 pm and offers a full café service with drinks and food (sandwiches, pastries, grilled dishes), as well as a Majorcan restaurant with a daily menu and table service (starter, main course, dessert and drink or the cheaper option of main course, dessert and drink).
